Mother Caroline Academy

Mother Caroline Academy and Education Center (MCA) is a tuition-free , private all-girls school serving girls from under-resourced Boston neighborhoods.

Grants from the Women’s Foundation include:

  • 2025: Three-year grant funding a lower school math specialist to build the students’ math foundations, preparing them for more advanced math classes in the upper school. The grant also funded an annual Community Math Night to engage students and their families with the math curriculum. 
  • 2023: Three-year grant strengthening MCA’s STEAM program by funding a coding teacher, a part-time makerspace teacher, and costs associated with a week-long internship program at Boston Children’s Hospital.
  • 2023: One-time in-kind donation of refurbished laptops for coding and additional STEM activities. 
  • 2022: Grant funding a professional consultant to develop a marketing and admissions strategy for the school.
  • 2020: Event sponsorship and support for the school to secure a matching grant.
  • 2020: COVID response funding to help cover pandemic expenses for personal protective equipment, cleaning, and additional staff.
  • 2020: Two-year grant for a new outreach and admissions coordinator to boost enrollment and improve diversity.
